Michael T. Zabec knows the remodeling industry. As the executive vice president of Homeview Contractors and host of the weekly WCBM radio show “Your Home, Your Views,” he has 36 years in the business behind him. That also means 36 years of making mistakes and learning from them.
Now he explains his tough lessons in an easy-to-read manual for sales managers. The Sales Manager's Bible is organized into 10 “books.” Each profiles a hapless sales manager, their mistakes, and their usually unfortunate ending.
The most helpful and original parts of the book are in the footnotes that go on throughout the story; each mistake is discussed so managers can learn to recognize and therefore stop the behavior or problems they discover in themselves or their team before any problems escalate and cause real trouble.
Because the book does such a detailed job of discussing common sales manager foils, the lessons are applicable to anyone.
It also helps remodelers learn how to spot people not quite ready for management, watch for signs of embezzlement, learn to delegate to managers, handle personality conflicts, and much more.
Zabec drew on his own experience and the stories told on his call-in radio show to write the comprehensive and straightforward book. “The experiences in the book often mirror those real-life stories, and they are presented with the unique perspective of a sales manager in mind,” Zabec says.
