Recognizing that traditional ceiling-mounted garage door openers are incompatible with these designs, the maker has introduced the side-mounted LiftMaster Residential Jackshaft Opener Model 3800. Using a wall-mount installation, the RJO 3800 simply mounts on the left or right side of the door and attaches to the garage door torsion bar, resulting in no rails to hang, and freeing up the ceiling for design elements or storage space. The space-saving opener runs on an ultra-quiet 24-volt DC motor and is compatible with sectional doors up to 14-feet high. Protector System and PosiLock features ensure safety and security.

Developed for interoperability with home automation and security systems, SmartCode with Home Connect Technology is a keyless entry electronic lock that can communicate wirelessly with other devices for a variety of access control and security. The lock allows users to automatically arm and disarm a home security system, check the door lock status, and customize room scenes upon entry and exit. A motor-driven deadbolt offers true remote locking and unlocking, and homeowners can monitor and control locks using either a Web-enabled device or a home automation system.

  Ridgid. Ideal for cutting in tight spaces, the Model 118 Close Quarters Autofeed Cutter features a ratchet handle that operates in ratchet step s as small as 10 degrees. This allows for fine indexing of the cutter in spaces when it can’t be rotated by hand. The cutter requires the operator to tighten the football-shaped knob only once, and the spring-loaded cutter wheel will automatically cut. The cutter is adjustable for ¼ inches to 1 ½ inches outer diameter. It can be used on hard and soft copper, aluminum, brass, and plastic tubing. A spare E-3469 cutter wheel is included in the knob, and the ratchet handle is also compatible with the Model 101 tubing cutter.

Ultra-thin, yet designed to be durable, the large-format RAK Slim collection of porcelain tiles measures less than 1/5 inch thick, and are lightweight enough to be used as indoor wall tiles or as exterior cladding. The 24-by-12-inch tiles may also be specified for residential or light commercial flooring. The lightweight tiles reduce load-bearing requirements on the building structure, and are thin enough to be installed over existing floor coverings, eliminating the costs and waste associated with demolition.

  Schluter Systems. The Schluter-Kerdi-Drain adaptor kit allows tile installers to use a bonded waterproofing system for tiled showers when an existing clamping ring drain is in place. Traditional clamping ring drains are designed to connect to pan liner membranes below a shower’s mortar bed, whereas bonded waterproofing membranes are applied directly beneath tiles, making the two components incompatible. Rather than remove the clamping ring drain, the Kerdi-Drain adaptor kit creates a new drain assembly with an integrated bonding flange that attaches to the clamping ring drain, making it ready for the bonded waterproofing membrane to be applied.
