Requiring no special tools, new Shake XD roofing has fewer than 24 pieces per square and installs direct to the roof deck using a hidden fastening system. The stone-coated steel material gives the look of thick, handsplit wood shakes. After installation, Shake XD is walkable, and will not crack, split, curl or break, the maker says. Decra's 'cut-and-tuck' technology allows panels to be cut using standard tools and fit into roofing components without special application.
