For 33 years, George Lewis (left) has driven home one message: If you want top-shelf remodeling in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, there's only one company to call. Quality work is only part of the George Lewis Custom Homes formula; dedicated customer service at the highest level has created customers for life in a demanding, high-end market.
"We run a dealership," Lewis says. "They take their car back to the dealer for anything they want done, and likewise they call us back to the house for anything they want done."
A well-funded and well-oiled marketing apparatus keeps the pipeline full and has elevated the company to brand-name status: Realtors, Lewis says, tell their prospects, "It's a George Lewis home."
But high-end service and a sterling reputation haven't rarified the air within the company. Both Lewis and VP Eric Graham take a hands-on approach to project management: "We have a very flat organization," Lewis says. "The principals of the company are active in field operations, and there aren't a lot of steps between us and a lead guy."
